Welcome to Aura Esthetics by Kassandra! My name is Kassie and I am a licensed esthetician specializing in facials, lash lifts, and tints! My primary goal as your skincare provider is to not only offer you a safe space to work on skincare goals, find time to relax, and to enhance your inner glow, but to also educate you!

In addition to practicing esthetics, I also teach it! I have focused many years in education and now matching my passion for teaching and esthetics, I am able to offer both services and education to guide you towards any and all goals you have set for yourself.

I focus on using holistic approaches and looking at the bigger picture to better understand how all aspects of our life affects our skin. I look forward to working with you and helping your aura glow a little brighter with each visit ✨

🧴 Keep your routine simple

When you’re starting out and building a routine you want to make sure each product used is one that works for your skin. When we start using 3-5 new products at once we can experience reactions and it’s hard for us to pinpoint if it’s irritation, overload on your barrier or maybe an allergy. When picking out products stay simple and build if needed but focus on the basics: cleanser, exfoliant, moisturizer, SPF. First, REPAIR the barrier, then you can treat specific issues with advanced exfoliation, extra serums, etc. once it’s strong/healthy enough.

📅 Pre-book your appointments

Sometimes the idea of booking an appointment a month out can feel excessive especially is planning is not our forte, however, when you pre-book you set yourself up for success. Pre booking benefits not only your provider by keeping you on schedule and adhering to the plan or your treatment they created, but also ensures you have a spot when you want it. Especially if you’re forgetful, I tell my clients “even if you book it and need to reschedule it, at least it’s on your radar”.

🧽 Exfoliate 2-3 times a week

Adding in extra steps to your routine can be annoying, however exfoliating will save you in the long run. Unsure of a good exfoliant for your skin? Ask us! Your esthetician knows your skin better than anyone else and would be happy to provide options for you to use.

Looking for anti-aging treatments? The most accessible and easiest way for you to save your skin and follow preventative practices for age management is wearing SPF!! Sunscreen helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays which are responsible for potential skin cancer, barrier damage and premature aging.

Let’s do a ✨back facial✨! One of my most favorite services to perform for a couple reasons:

1. The back is a haaaaaaard place to reach on your own, especially when you have a white head and you just want it popped. there’s no better feeling than someone extracting for you (safely too!)

2. Deep exfoliation - when we exfoliate our backs most of us turn our thoughts towards an exfoliation net or something of the sorts but with an enzyme, not only is the dead skin cells sloughed off but the skin is also softened to better prepare the skin for extractions (less pain, yay)

3. Relaxation - what is better than human touch? This service focuses not only on treating the skin but also relaxation! Our back can carry a lot of stress and tension, so a little massage goes a long way!

So you finally got your first wax, yay! Now, what do you do after you leave the suite and how do you care for that area in between services?
Here’s a few tips to make sure you yield the best results for your wax!

💜 Although it is tempting for us to touch the smooth area….DONT 🚫Touching the newly waxed area immediately after a wax may result in bacteria getting trapped causing irritation, folliculitis or ingrowns.

💜 Waxing is a form of exfoliation so wait 24-48 hours ⏰ to resume regular exfoliation at home.

💜 Wear loose clothing, if possible! This allows your skin to breathe and reduces friction

💜 Avoid sunlight ☀️, friction and sweating 💧 : newly waxed areas are susceptible to burns, ingrowns and other issues when we don’t follow proper aftercare such as this. Please please PLEASE make sure you speak with your esthetician when planning waxes around events, trips or special occasions, it will make it so much easier for the both of you!

💜 I tell all my clients exfoliation is like flossing, you have to do it and forget but when you end up at the dentist they remind you how important it is!! Exfoliation is the same; exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and allows the hair to grow in properly reducing possibilities of ingrowns. Make sure you exfoliate 2-3 times a week and moisturize daily. Moisturizing your skin also protects the hair from being dry and brittle which reduces the chances of your hairs breaking during a wax as well. These two practices help you achieve a smoother, easier and painless wax 🤝

💜 Make sure to share any changes with your esthetician! New medications, skin issues, anything that may impact your wax? Let us know! This is for both our and your safety, and helps us yield the best results while prioritizing your health and safety.
